I am a storyteller with a predisposition toward learning, creativity, and iced coffee. With a strong humanities and design-oriented academic background, as well as professional experience ranging from fundraising to the technical sphere, I am armed with an arsenal of tools to create compelling content in a multitude of forms.
I believe that rhetoric is essential to our lives and its professional and organizational value cannot be overstated. I also enjoy making music and singing, bouldering, and penning down abrupt epiphanies in my spare time.
My relationship with design began early, with an interest in personal style, arts & crafts, and my own personal projects. While I did not have the opportunity to pursue an early education in the field, my passion never dimmed, and in fact, persevered in the form of a supporting role for my other hobbies and interests.
This interest eventually became hard to ignore, and with widening access to education in design, I thrust myself head first into my passion and dedicated myself to studying design.
Creative problem-solving seems to be the overarching theme in my interests. I enjoy climbing for a variety of reasons, but the social environment and creative problem-solving make the top two. It is also the primary reason why I prefer indoor bouldering to other versions of climbing, as it is about honing one's physical fitness and "solving the problem" or "figuring out the beta".
As an artist at my core, music is another way in which I express my creativity. I've been passionate about singing from a young age and began making music when I realized I did not have to rely on others to create the type of music I wanted to sing or listen to. This has evolved into something much bigger than just a passion for singing and has instead turned into an overarching creative pursuit including conception, writing, graphic design, set & sound design, bringing a personal vision to life, and continuing my storytelling inclinations in a different format.
Beyond my interest in creative self-expression, at the core of who I am is a humanities kid with a passion for social development and equality. A purpose of mine is to devote my skills to social progress and the upliftment of communities in whichever way possible, whether it be in the way I live my day-to-day life, or in bigger ways like sponsoring a child.
The real social impact of the choices I make in my own life is not lost on me, and opportunities to contribute to a purpose higher than myself are personally fulfilling. I consider myself privileged to have received a great quality of education and exposure, and I am looking forward to its investment in social welfare and advancement.
