Brief
Illustration for a visual campaign of The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). The image must represent and communicate a visual metaphor addressing the campaign's main topic: the mental health challenges in the entertainment industry.
Concept
Body dysmorphia is common in entertainment, where objectification is rampant and consequently leads to losing touch with reality and being overly critical of natural and minuscule bodily flaws. On top of that, a high amount of value is placed on personal appearance, creating pressure that’s hard to escape.

The main character here is looking into a mirror and perceiving themselves as quite different to how they look. There's also an element of comparison as there is a body in the mirror that the main character is comparing themselves to. Meanwhile, they are “disintegrating” under pressure and losing touch with themselves while the “spotlight” focuses on them and (in their mind, their “flaws”).

I chose to add the provided text in a photograph as a natural addition and used logo and text colours that match the images chosen.
